Technical Sales Specialist Role - Job Ref: TSS
Role Purpose
- To develop the sales of the company’s maths and simulation
product lines.
- To work with the marketing group in preparing application,
training and marketing material.
- To contribute to the company’s
overall annual sales and marketing plan.
Key responsibilities:
- Achieving targets for maths and simulation sales revenue.
- Responding
to sales enquiries with due regard to their commercial viability
using phone, email, webinar and on site demonstration as appropriate.
- Proactively
manage all sales contacts – past and present.
- Produce quotations
and project proposals as appropriate.
- Maintain sufficient knowledge
of products, competitors and marketplace to effectively sell
products.
- Provide 2nd level technical support backup to colleagues
in technical support.
- Participate in seminars and product training.
- Identify new opportunities
for selling products, consultancy and training services.
- Maintain
an awareness of other products sold by the company in order to
maximise cross-selling opportunities.
- Record prospect and customer
interactions on CRM database.
- Provide sales forecasts.
- Contribute to the development of the
knowledge base.
- Provide sales and support cover as appropriate.
- Attending exhibitions
and seminars.
Person Profile:
- Engineering or a scientific background with significant maths
component at Degree level or above.
- Experience in training and/or
presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Mathcad, Maple, Mathematica
or Matlab
- Excellent communication skills – both written
and verbal.
- Self motivated and able to work in a changing environment.
- High
PC literacy.
- Customer focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
simultaneously, in an organized fashion.
- Good knowledge of Windows,
Microsoft Office software and Lotus Notes.
- Ability to use own
initiative and make decisions to improve the business.
- Minimum
of 3 years relevant experience in a technical sales role.
Other Info:
Willingness to travel - UK and some overseas travel may be necessary.
