Shake Table I
Challenge:
Excite the flexible modes of a tall structure and
design a control system to manipulate and dampen the vibrations.
Description:
This system consists of a high torque direct drive
motor that can drive a 5 Kg. Mass at 1 g. Maximum travel is +/- 2 cm.
Use this system to simulate earthquakes and evaluate the performance
of active mass dampers.
