Maple

Maple Powertools

This is a complete set of Maple lessons for an undergraduate course in Linear Algebra. These 30 lessons were developed by Michael K. May and Russell Blyth of the Saint Louis University.

These worksheets follow the material in the text "Linear Algebra, Ideas and Applications" by Richard Penney, published by Wiley Press, ISBN: 047118179X. The worksheets vary from a straightforward adaptation of the material in the "On Line" sections of the book to worksheets that develop supplemental material that the instructor thought appropriate at that point in the course.

Depending on what the instructor thought most effective for a particular class and section of material, the worksheets have been designed in several different models. They are described as the classroom activity model, the teacher demonstration model, and the Maple feature demonstration model.

Product Reviews

"Without the Maple software, we would have to spend weeks generating the equations of motion for every experiment. Then the chances that we did it right would basically be near zero. There would always be a mistake somewhere. It is very difficult to set up a dynamic motion model by hand."
- Jean-Claude PiedBeouf, Ph.D Manager of Robotics, Canadian Space Agency

"Its very good - highly accurate and easy to use. The speed of Maple allows me to change equations and quickly reintegrate them into the application, so more possibilities can be explored to achieve the precise effect desired."
Shawn Neely, Senior R & D Director for PDI/Dreamworks
