Place your Maple® work in the hands of non-Maple users
Maplets is a Maple package enabling you to create custom user
interfaces to your Maple applications. Before Maplets, users of Maple
applications were constrained to interact with a Maple worksheet, sometimes
even with the source code in which the application was written. With
Maplets, you can give users access to your application through buttons,
text areas, pull-down menus, slider bars, and other GUI elements. Users
can access your application without knowing any Maple syntax, or even
knowing what Maple is.
Create hands-on tutorials for students
With Maplets, mathematics and science instructors can create interactive
tutorials for their students on virtually any topic, including optimisation
problems in calculus, the classic curve-fitting techniques of statistics,
or the effects of gravity and initial velocity on the path of a baseball.
Combine the Flexibility of Java GUIs with the Power of Maple
Maplets work by invoking GUI elements from Suns Java Swing
package. However, you dont need any knowledge of Java to program
a Maplet. The Maplets package provides a Maple programming interface
to all GUI Elements. Basic Maple programming is all that is required.
Maplets is available for download,
for all subscribers to the Maple Extended Maintenance Program, from
the MaplePrimes Web site. Maplets is supported under the Windows,
Linux and UNIX platforms.
