As well as providing the powerful ChemOffice software suite, CambridgeSoft
also offer a range of chemical and biological reference databases containing
synonyms, monographs, physical properties and atom-mapped reactions. Choose
from the following titles and add this incredible compendium of knowledge
to your desktop!
Probably the best known is The Merck Index. The new 14th edition of this
industry standard encyclopaedia of chemicals, drugs and biologically active
molecules belongs on every chemist’s bookshelf,
with over 10,000 monographs listing names, synonyms, physical properties,
preparations, patents, references, therapeutic uses and more. All the data
is also included on a CD, and the version we supply includes powerful search
software to find molecules by fragment, substructure or full structure,
on the basis of either exact matching or similarity.
ChemIndex has information on over 75,000 compounds including
structures, names and synonyms and physical properties. This DVD also includes
over 29,000 fully atom-mapped reactions; and the US National Cancer Institute’s
NCI and AIDS database collections.
Ashgate Drugs is a database of almost 8,000 drugs
in common use worldwide, with extensive coverage of synonyms and trade
names (nearly 100,000) as well as physical properties, known biological
activity and indicated applications.
The Traditional Chinese Medicines database focuses
on natural products found in Chinese herbal medicines, and includes bio-activity
data, effects and indications of the medicines and over 2,000 references.
ChemSynth is a CD-ROM database of 180,000 sample
reactions, all reported as having greater than 50% yield, that have been
referenced at least twice in the literature published from 1974-2001. Information
on a further 68,000 sample reactions meeting the same criteria are available
on the ChemReact68 DVD.
Finally, an invaluable sourcing reference: ChemACX contains
catalogues from the world’s leading chemicals
suppliers. The DVD has information on over 500,000 chemical products, plus
over 23,000 Material Safety data sheets in PDF format.
Did you know that some of these databases are included as standard in
certain configurations of ChemOffice (you
can download a trial version here), and all are available for purchase separately?
