Aim of the coursesThese courses are designed to provide you with the knowledge required to get the most out of EndNote's extensive capabilities and demostrate how to customise EndNote to match your requirements.
Day 1: Using EndNoteWho should attend? This course is designed for anyone using EndNote to develop and manage their reference collection.
During the day you will learn about:
- The EndNote database and record structure
- Direct Import into EndNote from online databases (e.g. Web of Knowledge, HubMed)
- Importing references via text files
- Searching online databases via EndNote using Connection Files (e.g. PubMed, z39.50 sites)
- Working with term lists and create your own
- Generating bibliographies within Microsoft Word
- Creating Subject Bibliographies
- Working with Graphics and Attachments
- Import Filters and Output Styles
Day 2: Customising EndNote
Who should attend? This course is ideal for users wishing to adapt EndNote to suit the way they work.
Before attending this course you must be familiar with the following:
- Importing references from on-line databases using 'Direct Export', 'Import Text File' and 'Connect',
- Searching for references in an EndNote library,
- Using Cite-While-You-Write.
During the day you will learn how to:
- Create new reference types
- Edit Connection Files for new remote databases
- Edit and create Import Filters
- Edit and create Output Styles
- Create documents with chapter bibliographies

After starting his working life as a Research and Development Electronics engineer in the defence industry, Bob Green moved into Computer System sales, before finding his true vocation in training. He now has over 16 years' experience in this field. In addition to delivering Adept's bibliographic software training, he is responsible for the training and development of all Adept's staff. He has the ability to communicate even the most complicated features in a way everyone can understand. Bob is a great believer in making learning a fun experience, and his courses are delivered in an interactive environment where he is always keen to hear your point of view. |
