Using EndNote
Aim of the course
This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge required to get the most out of EndNote's extensive capabilities.
Who should attend?
Anyone using EndNote to develop and manage their reference collection and write papers.
During the day you will learn about:
- The EndNote database and record structure
- Direct Import into EndNote from online databases (e.g. Web of Knowledge, Hirewire)
- Importing references via text files
- Searching online databases via EndNote using Connection Files (e.g. PubMed, z39.50 sites)
- Learn how to organise reference groups
- Generating bibliographies within Microsoft Word
- Creating Subject Bibliographies
- Working with Graphics and Attachments
- Import Filters and Output Styles
Want to develop more advanced software skills with EndNote?
If you'd like to learn how to adapt EndNote to suit the way you work (such as creating and editing new reference types, import filters and output styles etc.) we can arrange additional 'Customising EndNote' training days if there is sufficient interest. Trainer Profile: Bob Green
After starting his working life as a Research and Development Electronics engineer in the defence industry, Bob Green moved into Computer System sales, before finding his true vocation in training. He now has over 17 years' experience in this field. In addition to delivering Adept's bibliographic software training, he is responsible for the training and development of all Adept's staff. He has the ability to communicate even the most complicated features in a way everyone can understand. Bob is a great believer in making learning a fun experience, and his courses are delivered in an interactive environment where he is always keen to hear your point of view. |
